Overview of Scholarship Program

OCF has one of the largest private scholarship programs in the state of Oregon, awarding nearly $4 million annually from more than 300 funds.

Between 1,500 and 2,000 Oregonians receive OCF scholarships each year to pursue postsecondary education in a college, university or vocational/technical program. Among them are:

  • Graduating high school seniors
  • Prior graduates of Oregon high schools
  • Current, returning or late-entering college students

Scholarship Workshops for Donors, Selection Committee Members, Education Professionals

Periodically OCF schedules scholarship workshops for those who work with the foundation to award scholarships. Topics include the impact of scholarships, growth and management of a scholarship program, selecting scholarship recipients, and what’s new in the world of scholarships and financial aid.

In 2007, workshops were held in Medford, Coos Bay and La Grande; in 2006, in Portland, Roseburg and Bend. Keep monitoring this site for information about future workshops!

Scholarships Administered through the Oregon Student Assistance Commission

OCF has long partnered with the Oregon Student Assistance Commission (OSAC), a state agency, to make it easier for students to access scholarships. By contracting with OSAC to administer over 200 OCF scholarship programs, OCF allows students to complete a single application form to be eligible for scholarships not just from OCF, but from a number of other private and public sources.

To review a list of OCF’s (and other funders’) scholarships administered through OSAC, please visit www.GetCollegeFunds.org. The site also offers application directions and forms. Scholarship applications are due each year by March 1 (postmark deadline) for the following academic year.

Scholarships Administered through OCF

OCF also administers a few scholarships in-house, in cases where the program cannot be administered by OSAC. For scholarships whose application information can be found here, on OCF’s Web site, see below:
