Grants from the fund support a wide variety of projects in Douglas County, but as the foundation was created originally to provide funds for a medical facility for the area, the medical needs of Douglas County continue to have a high priority. Applicants must be organizations that have been ruled as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Grant applications are due each year by February 1, for a board decision in May.
